This can be a tough question so we break tones into three distinct
categories: cool, warm and neutral.
A pale, rosy, ebony, or dark-red cast to
skin usually indicates that you have a cool tone.
Warm, yellow, golden, and honey tones
usually lend themselves to a warm tone.
If you have a blend of both, or are more
olive toned, then you have a neutral tone to your skin.
We have found a easy way to determine your
skin tone, pull the hair back from your face and drape a white cloth (pure white
not ivory) around the neckline so white is the only color next to the face. The
white cloth reflects the true tone color of the skin. Colors from clothing
cast shadows on the face that sometimes make it hard to determine skintone. From
here you will be able to look at the face and determine the underlying color.
Once you have determined the skin tone it will be easier to find a foundation color.
